395 (Stafford) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets is inviting young people to register their interest for a September open day.
The Stafford squadron is looking for new recruits interested in activities including aviation, adventure training, space, military skills, sport and music. Anyone interested in attending the open day is being asked to contact the squadron in advance by email.
The Royal Air Force Air Cadets is a UK-wide youth organisation supported by the RAF. It gives young people the chance to take part in a wide range of activities designed to build confidence, teamwork, leadership and practical skills, with opportunities often linked to aviation and the Armed Forces.
More than just aviation
Although flying and aviation are a major part of the organisation, Air Cadets can also take part in activities such as fieldcraft, first aid, shooting, sports, music, camps and outdoor training.
Cadets can work towards qualifications and awards while meeting other young people and taking part in activities that may not normally be available through school or other youth groups.
The Stafford squadron says its September open day will give prospective cadets and their families the chance to find out more about what is available locally.
Anyone interested can register by emailing oc.395@rafac.mod.gov.uk.
