Rugeley Comic Con expands to two-day event for 2027 return

Following a sell-out debut event earlier this year, Rugeley Comic Con has announced it will return in 2027, doubling in size to run across an entire weekend.

Titled “The Con Strikes Back”, the follow-up gathering will take place across Saturday 24 April and Sunday 25 April 2027 at Lea Hall in Rugeley. The convention will run from 10:00am to 4:00pm each day, bringing together fans of comic books, gaming, sci-fi, television, and film from across Staffordshire.

Organisers confirmed the move to a two-day schedule comes directly in response to visitor feedback and huge demand after tickets for the original event sold out.

What is on across the weekend

Designed as a relaxed, budget-friendly convention suitable for fans of all ages, the 2027 event will introduce a wider lineup of entertainment, guest features, and attractions.

Highlights planned across both days include:

• Free-to-enter cosplay competitions: Open to all visitors, with costume prizes awarded across different age categories.
• Free retro gaming zone: A dedicated space featuring classic consoles and games open to play throughout the day.
• Interactive family scavenger hunt: A free activity taking visitors across the event floor.
• Prop vehicles and photo opportunities: Displays featuring well-known film and television vehicles alongside themed photo backdrops.
• Stage Q&As and guest interviews: Live talks, creator discussions, and panel sessions hosted on stage.
• Expanded food and market stalls: A wider selection of food vendors, alongside a rotating lineup of independent geek, collectible, and craft traders offering different stalls on each day.
